eTwinning project 2022\/2023 at Secondary School: researching the biographies of deportees from Drancy to Auschwitz in 1944<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Class II B, under the supervision of their English teacher is embarking on a project about the Holocaust and the Second World War, during which many people’s fates changed their course, often breaking off at completely unexpected moments. The search for the missing biographies will be carried out by Polish students in collaboration with French students. The start of the project took place in Sopot during one of the September weekends, where Polish and French teachers met.

Twelve teachers from twelve different schools in Poland and France will work together in two important programmes: Convoy 77 https:\/\/pl.convoi77.org\/<\/a> and eTwinning https:\/\/etwinning.pl\/<\/a> . Their task will be to discover 7 biographies of deported Jewish citizens from Drancy in France to the Nazi death camp in Auschwitz.

The project envisages working in international groups and exchanging correspondence with institutions that could help the pupils to find the missing information. The young people will also travel to the museum in Krakow and hold video conferences on topics directly related to their research.

Secondary School II will work directly with two French schools: Coll\u00e8ge Ren\u00e9 Descartes from Le Havre, Haute-Normandie (Mr Cyrille Chopin), and Lyc\u00e9e Jean Marie de la Mennais from Retiers, Bretagne (Ms Elo\u00efse Blet).

The project, entitled 'Convoi77: Let’s Never Forget’, was launched by Polish and French teachers of various subjects under the guidance of experts who gathered in Sopot from 23 to 25 September 2022. The entire event was led by two eTwinning ambassadors: Anna P\u0142awecka from Poland and Laurence Ponthieux from France, and the content was introduced during the seminar in Sopot and will be supported by the project participants – Anna Matera-Klinger, lecturer at Adam Mickiewicz University in Pozna\u0144, and Micha\u0142 Adamiak from the Dialogue Centre in \u0141\u00f3d\u017a, coordinator of the Convoi77 project in Poland.

We look forward to working together in English and to seeing the results of the project in Polish, French and English.
